Tablet for kids launched

Manufacturer of educational toys LeapFrog has unveiled a tablet named LeapPad Explorer. The new tablet, which is designed for children in the age group of 4 to 9 years, first announced in February 2011.
5-inch touchscreen LeapPad Explorer is equipped with 480 x 272 pixels and uses a processor at 400 MHz. LeapPad has camera for photo and video filming, an accelerometer and a microphone.
The tablet can run educational games and programs. The memory of the device is fitted with pre-loaded four applications, and nearly a hundred apps are available on the website LeapFrog. Among them are special programs for teaching reading and writing (stylus is also included), an interactive coloring books, music programs and programs for learning the basics of a healthy living.
LeapPad Explorer has no Wi-Fi module, so to install applications, you must connect it to a computer.
