Eye-controlled laptop unveiled

Lenovo and Tobii Technology have displayed a prototype of the world’s first laptop, which can be controlled by eye movements at CeBIT 2011, held these days in Hannover, Germany. The developers say that the new control system is able to complete such traditional devices such as keyboard, mouse and touchpad.
First, the user calibrate the sensor located under the display notebook determining the direction of gaze. After a short training, the system allows user to zoom pctures, switch between windows and view e-mails and documents by looking at.
According to Tobii Technology, which developed the technology for visual inspection, first commercial unit with a similar system may appear within two years.
