Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers approves regulations to protect personal data

The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has approved regulations to protect personal data, the Cabinet of Ministers has said.

The Communications and IT Ministry, the National Security Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Justice Ministry and the special services are charged with controlling regulations that protect the personal data within their remit.

The regulations stipulate the protection, early detection and suppression of the invasion of personal information and its transmission to others, the possible rapid recovery of deleted or changed documents, the use of at least 256-bit encryption keys, the creation of a separate building for the DAT-center, the use of software in information systems, and other matters in relation to personal data.
